HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY – CELEBRATE SAFELY
READY TO CELEBRATE OUR COUNTRIES 243 YEAR BIRTHDAY!
If you plan on celebrating with fireworks this Fourth of July, even the so-called ‘safe and sane’ variety, its good to know that all fireworks are considered illegal in Greater Los Angeles and Palm Spring areas . Those who use, possess or transport any type of firework may be subject to criminal prosecution and heavy fines. Luckily your city offers a plethora of ways for the whole family to celebrate our nation’s Independence Day. Many of the celebrations are free to the community and offer a full day of festivities, music, and delicious food. We listed a selection of Fourth of July events that are free to the public and available in your area:
Los Angeles
- 4th of July Community Festival & Fireworks Exposition Park – 700 Exposition Drive, Los Angeles – for more information click on the link https://www.eventbrite.com/e/4th-of-july-community-festival-fireworks-show-tickets-60892023682
- 4th of July Block Party Fireworks Grand Park – Downtown LA – 200 N Grand Avenue, The procession starts at about 2 p.m. with skydivers descending from the sky. March bands make their promenade on Sunset Boulevard, between Via de la Paz and Drummond. The festivities end with a concert and fireworks, of course.
Palm Springs & Rancho Mirage
- Agua Caliente Casino Rancho Mirage Fireworks – View free fireworks spectacular at 9 p.m. Park and view the fireworks from the south lot of the casino. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome.
- The City of Palm Desert and Indian Wells Fireworks
– Fireworks display, with a simulcast of patriotic music via The Mix 100.5 FM will take place starting at 9 to 9:20 p.m.
Location: City of Palm Desert Civic Center Park, 43900 San Pablo Ave. (Fred Waring Drive and San Pablo Avenue
Parking: Will be allowed until 6 p.m., with access on Fred Waring Drive.
Recommended: Flashlights for safely exiting the park.
